Our next walk:

 

Date: Saturday 28th April, 2012

Time: 10.15am Meet at 10:00am for a prompt start

Meeting point: The Full Moon Pub, Hare Lane, Little Kingshill, HP16 0EE approx 10 minute drive from Hazlemere. I have arranged for us to park in the pub's car park. I suggest we park at the far end of the car park behind the pub.

Distance: 3.5 Miles + 3.5 Miles = approx 2 hours each leg,

Route:

The route comprises a figure of eight walk centred on the Full Moon pub, where we can take lunch. At its Northernmost point we cross the railway at Great Missenden which may appeal to the trainspotters amongst us.

Category: Moderate

The route has some slopes but they are not too steep. Some of the walk covers quite flat terrrain by Chiltern standards. The route takes paths that are likely to be muddy given the recent rain so suitable footwear should be worn. There are several gates and stiles on the route.

Please note:

• Dogs may bring well controlled owners, although they will need to be on a lead some of the time and especially when we reach roads. Hopefully they will respond to your call if they run off into the woods!

• You may like to bring a drink and a snack but refreshments are available in Winchmoor Hill and, for those who wish to stay around after the walk, drinks and pub grub is available in the Squirrel pub in Penn Street.

• There are toilets available at the Full Moon

• I will need to advise the pub of the number of us who intend to dine at the pub before we begin the walk.
