 SUMMER CELEBRATION SUNDAY
23rd July 2006, 9.30-2.00pm
Lighthouse Site, Ramsey School

This is a annual opportunity for all of our church to come together for a special day of worship, learning, fellowship, challenge and ministry. Join us as we plan an activity packed morning with something for everyone.

Rather than our normal family service event we want to make this more of a mini-conference with stuff for children and young people, a choice of seminars for adults, times for family worship and opportunities for prophetic worship and ministry.

We will be finalising both programme and topics soon and will look for people to sign up in advance to seminars. We will be asking congregations to provide people to serve as car parkers, stewards, seminar leaders, activity leaders, worship teams and other tasks - look out for sign up lists.

On behalf of the leadership team of the church here, let me both invite you and welcome you to our special Summer Celebration Sunday on 23rd July at the Hazlemere Lighthouse site

At the end of the school terms and the start of Lighthouse we have the opportunity to gather as a whole church to celebrate the faith that is so much our lives. We have arranged this as a day convention with food, worship, seminars and ministry - something for everyone and each age group - a reflection of our church!

Please join us and expect to meet with each other, meet with God and start the summer with faith!

Worship Together from 10

We have arranged a great band for the day and we have given some prime time to worship together. We begin at 10 with some family worship - hoping to engage all age groups with some clips, songs and fun praise. The children go to some special activities after 25 minutes and we will continue with more worship - with opportunity for testimony and prophecy and a place to meet with God through songs or silence, declaration or intimacy. Come expectant and come with faith to see God move.

Activities and Ministry for Children (School years R-6)

We love the children and have planned two main activities for them besides being part of the Family Worship at the beginning and the time altogether at the end. These are:

Activity Time: 10.30-11.00

Around 30 minutes in the other big tent (or maybe outside if suitable weather). This will involve some fun, some doing and some action! We plan to have sufficient helpers to allow parents to leave their children here. They will all return to the Big Top at 11 for a drink and to be with parents again before...

Minstry Time: 11.15-12.00

We hope that the Lighthouse puppets will be on site to help our children learn something new about God. We then aim to encourage them with some praising and praying! You should judge if you need to be with your children during this time (around 45 mins) to help them stay focused!

Care of your children!

We want the children to really enjoy the time together as a whole church family. To help this there are some simple things to note:

You need to look after them when they are not in a particular session (the Activity Time and Ministry Time). They will be brought to and from the Big Tent for these times but you need to be there get them!

Those under school age are your responsibility for the whole time (or someone you authorise). Play items and colouring sheets will be available at any time and you can bring them to any seminar or session as long as they are not disruptive. You can accompany them to the activities for school age children if you prefer.

Youth! (11 upwards)

We have arranged some activities for you during the seminar time led by Rachel Hughes and Dave Hallissy. Please meet them outside the big top at the start of this session!

Security and Safety!

We are very grateful for the use of the Lighthouse Site before they begin the amazing Lighthouse week! The site is large and has many tent pegs and guy ropes. Please take great care and always do what stewards tell you. Please also do not touch any equipment unless you have been told to do so!!

Giving and Costs!

We want to make a generous donation to Lighthouse for the use of their facilities for this day and to bless what we consider to be a work of God in this area. We also want to provide quality food and drinks throughout the time together.

A collection will be taken as part of the main session and after covering costs the balance will be given direct to Lighthouse. We give out of our abundance and a sense of thankfulness to God. Please come prepared.
