The Alpha Course Print
The Alpha Course will be starting later this term, which provides another great opportunity to explore the Christian faith and to discuss all those questions about the meaning of life.   If you want a taster of what it’s all about, why not come along to the Alpha Supper on 27th Feb.

Looking for some answers?

Wondering if there is more to life than this?  If this is you or your friends why not come to an Alpha Course?   We spend ten weeks thinking about lots of questions about God, prayer, the meaning of life etc.

What is Alpha?

The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions. It's relaxed, non-threatening, low-key, friendly and fun. There is a meal together at the beginning of each session, which gives you an opportunity to get to know each other. Listen, learn, discuss and discover. And ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile

Alpha is  supported by all the main Christian denominations. You're not on your own either. More than 6.7 million people in 153 countries worldwide have found it a worthwhile experience.

Who is Alpha for?

Alpha is for everyone, especially:
» Those wanting to explore the Christian faith
  » New Christians
  » Newcomers to the church

What will it cost?
There is no charge for the Alpha course, although you may make a voluntary contribution towards food.

Alpha in Hazlemere

For many years we have run Alpha Courses at our church here in Hazlemere and for many people it has been an important part of their journey to faith.  A number can testify to their lives being radically changed as a result of coming to Alpha. Almost everyone who comes comments on how much they’ve enjoyed the opportunity to make new friends, discuss important issues, hear people’s stories and eat great food!

Our next course starts in a few weeks time and we are beginning to take names and book places………

The Alpha Supper will be held at The Church of the Good Shepherd (CGS), Georges Hill, Widmer End on Monday 27th February at 7.45 for 8pm. Bring your family and friends along for an evening of food, drink, stories video clips and an after dinner talk by Clive Collier entitled:-
“Christianity – Boring, Untrue and Irrelevant!”

The Alpha Course starts on 6th March also at CGS at 7.45 for 8 p.m. It’s an informal discussion course, which gives people time to explore the Christian faith in a friendly environment. Each evening begins with a simple meal and after a short presentation there is opportunity for discussion in smaller groups.
Some of the subjects covered are:-
Who is Jesus?, Why Did Jesus Die?, How Can I be Sure of My Faith?, How Can I be Filled With the Holy Spirit?, Does God Heal Today? etc.

Please ring or email the office to book places at either the Alpha Supper or the course.
