This Bible reading calendar is designed to help you read through the whole Bible in a year, beginning as we start our preaching series ‘The Drama of Scripture’. The first four months follow the main story line of the Bible. The goal for this 120 day ‘adventure’ is to be caught up in the single great story of the living God – a drama in which we are all invited to play a part. The rest of the Bible reading calendar is loosely organised around the various different kinds of writing found in the Bible – grouping together books of wisdom, letters to the churches, gospel narratives etc. The aim is not just to get through the Bible and to gain more knowledge, but to be shaped by what we read so that we have characters and lives that are transformed into the likeness of Christ. It’s worth asking the question: ‘What is my life like since this is true, and how shall I speak and act because of this?’ |
