Celebrating the Birth of a Child
For the majority of people wanting to Celebrate the Birth of a Child, we have a service called a Naming & Blessing or Thanksgiving Service. In this service Parents and Godparents have special words and prayers to say, and the minister holds the baby, names the child and prays a special blessing over the child. The family is also given a copy of the Gospel to mark the occasion. This takes place in a Sunday morning service, normally one of our Family services.

Those who are committed christians and members of the church may choose to celebrate the birth of their child with an Infant Baptism. In this service, which also takes place during a morning service, the parents make promises and commitments that express their own christian faith and commitment to being part of the Church.
